News: We are excited to announce that joining us at our next First Saturday devotion will be Rev. Robert Carbonneau C.P. It’s been a long time since we have a Passionist back in Brighton, and Father is a historian. In fact Fr. Robert is the Passionist archivist and will be sharing with us some of the history of the Passionist in Brighton. You don’t want to miss this. I know it will be a very interesting presentation and discussion especially for those who wish to know more about how all of St. Gabriel’s came to exist, and who were some of the men who made it a reality. Light refreshments will be provided with coffee after the rosary during Fr. Robert’s presentation. There will be a Q & A at the end of the presentation as he tries to answer questions you may have in regards to the passionist presence in Brighton. The presentation will be held after mass and rosary in the 2nd floor conference room in the Monastery building next door to the shrine. Please let all those who would be curious or may have ties to the neighborhood about it. Fr. Robert presides currently in Cambridge, and is head of the Ricci center at Boston College and is somewhat of an expert on Chinese and the Passionist missionary involvement there as well. So get the word out as we all look forward to welcoming back a member of the Congregation of Passionist Also on a sad note as many of you know one of our own was buried last week from St. Mary’s in Brookline, Agnes Wong unexpectedly and tragically died while trying to save her beloved grandson who was 2years old from drowning, both died. We wish to remember Agnes and her grandson and the whole family as we continue to recognize and celebrate their lives, especially all that Agnes did for Our Lady at the Shrine. May perpetual light shine upon them! And may their souls of the faithfully departed rest in Peace. I would also like to thank all of you who on the last First Saturday contributed to the Nepal collection. We were able to wire money directly to the people on the ground there. It was well received and will go a long way in providing some relief to the victims. This is the season of Angels so let’s not forget about their presence among us.
