News: October is the month of the Rosary, and Life, filled with feast and saints days. We celebrate the eve of All Saints on the last day of the month. It is also a busy month as we confront the transition from summer to fall. We are amazed at nature’s changing palette on our landscape joined by brisk weather. We nostalgically accept the shrinking daylight with the acceleration of time and anticipated darkness. This can cause anxiety along with the comfort formally taking in our seasonal traditions overshadowed by news that continue to mislead and disappoint. Our leaders have let us down in every aspect of society as if by design to demoralize us, to instill fear and uncertainty. American culture has been hijacked by a demonic brand of misguided elitists with an apocalyptic worldview. America has arrived at what St. John Paul II referred to as, the culture of death. When all our social solutions seemed to be one’s of destruction, such as unwanted pregnancy, there’s abortion, terminal illness, there suicide, elderly care, there’s euthanasia, for criminals, there’s the death penalty and foreign policy, there’s endless war. Not to mention the fentanyl crisis, drug addiction, child trafficking, pornography, same sex marriages, transgenderism, and occultism.  All of this is on a collision course with faith and the Church.  Alexis de Tocqueville, in his book “Democracy in America” stated that “America is great because America is good.”  and when America stops being good, it will stop being great.  We seemed to have arrived at that crossroad, we need to invite God back, and bow to the throne of Jesus Christ.  Tocqueville also said, “When I refuse to obey an unjust law, I simply appeal from the sovereignty of the people to the sovereignty of mankind. As I see it, only God can be all-powerful without danger, because his wisdom and justice are always equal to his power.”  We cannot forget that our rights come from God and not the state! I recommend that we devote ourselves this month to making sacrifices, to atone, and to plead with God through His Mother for the crimes against the innocent as we double down on our rosaries and reflect on the great miracle of the Sun that was demonstrated in Fatima on the 13th of October 1917.
